I'm almost halfway through this Reset. I'm sure you all want to know... is this thing working? I'm not stepping on the scale or measuring myself until the end of the detox. I will be getting my hubby to take halfway pictures tomorrow, but you won't get to see them or hear the results until the end!
I will share with you that a few weeks prior to starting the Reset I started going to the chiropractor. For a long time I've had shoulder / upper back / neck pain. I was x-rayed and checked out by them and they found that my left shoulder was so tight that it was an inch higher than my right shoulder. I'm pretty much some sort of Quasimodo.
So, they've been working on me for a few weeks and during the first week of the Reset where did I feel the worst? My shoulders / upper back / neck, I was miserable. The first week is all about releasing the toxins out of your body. It makes sense that is where I hold my stress and I'm always asking my hubby to massage my neck and shoulder muscles. I'm picking up and putting down 35 pound kiddos all day.
It all seemed way too coincidental to not be true. I knew there was a problem in that location of my body and that there was a build up of toxins and stress. Why wouldn't that be where I'm the most sore? So it seems that the detox is actually working so far.
I haven't really felt a surge of energy yet. I haven't really noticed a major change in my weight until today I did notice some changes in my thighs and some change in my stomach. I do not know how significant it is. A woman is her own worst critic. However, my hubby and close friends have noticed a difference in only the 9 days I've been doing this.
I am succeeding in not drinking soda or needing caffeine. I've been soda free for 9 days now! I'm incorporating a lot more healthier foods in to my family and I's diet. I'm succeeding in learning lots of healthy recipes and learning how to cook even healthier. I'm succeeding in learning how to plan out meals and trips to the grocery store.
Overall, things are going very well. :)

Great job Angie!! Keep up the great work!! I'd be interested in getting some of your favorite recipes from this challenge, if you don't mind of course!! The thing is Matt doesn't eat beans or fish. I like both things and would like to eat more fish but I also don't want to buy two sets of groceries. Mine vs. His Lol Any tips?
ReplyDeleteThanks! I would say you could always make the meal and then keep the beans separate and add it to yours. You can keep frozen chicken in and just throw it in the oven for his meal while you make your fish. Does he like tempeh or tofu or lentils? Those might be good replacements. I would just tell him it is time to be a big boy and eat your beans and fish or he won't get to go outside and play. :)
