Well folks, I did it!! I survived for three weeks. I feel pretty darn amazing. I can't wait to share with you my results once I get them. I'm going to my physician to get a blood test Tuesday morning and taking another Bod Pod test on Tuesday afternoon.
I'm going to also take my measurements on Tuesday so it is all done on the same day. Here are my thoughts... I would guess I've lost 8 pounds and 10 inches. That is just my estimate. My clothes are so much looser than they were before. Considering I was stuck at the 15 ibs I needed to lose, I'd say that is pretty good and it will only continue now that I have all these tools in my nutrition toolbox.
Being I don't have my official results yet, how do I feel that the Reset went? Would I do it again? Check out my latest video.

Bod Pod Test
Here is a picture of the Bod Pod. It is pretty much a space ship.
The BOD POD is the safest and most subject-friendly of all methods used to assess body composition. There are none of the risks associated with underwater submersion, no x-rays, no electrical current, and no pinching. During testing, the subject just sits comfortably inside the BOD POD, yielding reinforcing and detailed test results complete with graphs providing information vital to/for an effective fitness program and the proper monitoring of that program.
The unique egg-shape of the BOD POD is designed to accommodate a wide variety of human shapes and sizes. With its roomy interior and spacious front window, the BOD POD is used routinely by NFL teams, sumo wrestlers, even people weighing up to 500 lbs. And because it's so simple to use, the BOD POD is ideal for assessing the body composition of children, the elderly, hospital patients, and those with special needs. It's that safe and easy.
I received a print out like the one found here. http://www.befittest.com/testresults.html - The results give you lots of information including the calories you should be eating every day. The test is so easy, not painless. I was a little nervous, I do get claustrophobic at times. Being enclosed in the Bod Pod was a little bit nerve wracking, however they do have an emergency button you can press if you start to panic. The operator can also talk to you and hear you as well.

Week THREE
Alright, I know I haven't been blogging every day, but I'm getting to the point where I don't know exactly what to blog about! I've got the supplements down, I've got the diet down. I'm meal planning, grocery shopping and meal preparing every day. Sometimes my hubby helps make one of my meals, which is awesome. Sometimes when you are a busy family you need to all pitch in and we're getting the hang of that too!
I've had a few challenges this last week however and I'm going to talk about them in the video. Check it out to learn more.

Detox - Supplement
For week two I took the Detox supplement. It is a packet that goes in distilled water 3 times a day. It is a lot like psyillium fiber, if you've taken that (think Metamucil). I have a read a lot on the message boards about how people really dislike the taste of this and the Alkalinize supplement. I personally had no problems with the taste of either of these supplements. The Detox supplement even has a little bit of peppermint taste. It wasn't that fun taking three times a day, but I got through it.
Here is more info about the Detox supplement:
Contrary to common belief, the colon does more than eliminate waste. It influences hydration, nutrient absorption, and immune system function. Bacteria in your colon break down fiber, resistant starch, and other material that has not been previously absorbed during digestion. The colon also extracts water, potassium, and some fat-soluble vitamins from solid wastes before your body eliminates them. If your colon isn't processing and eliminating waste properly, your digestive system can back up, causing you bloating and discomfort.
When formulating our Detox colon revitalizer, we set out to create a supplement that was not the most powerful, "take it and run to the bathroom" cleanser on the market. Beleive us, making that type of supplement would have been easy! We wanted to strike that perfect balance, formulating a product that would "get the job done" -- cleansing, restoring, and resetting your intestinal ecosystem -- while not forcing the body/bowels into a release.
Absorbent bentonite clay in Detox draws toxic substances from the mucus lining of your colon, then binds with insoluble chia fiber to transport it out of your body. Little-known traditional cleansing herbs, sourced from around the world -- including ground turmeric from the Himalayas, garlic, aloe vera, pau d'arco, una de gato (cat's claw), and others -- reduce gas, help your body manage normal inflammation, stimulate immune function, and soothe and detoxify your colon while working with the other supplements to promote healthy digestive functions and an optimal immune system.

Day 14 - I'm Melting
2/3 of the way through the Reset as of today! I don't have to take the detox supplement any more, I'll tell you more about that in another post. Today I went to a party and we went to see the Dark Night, when I put on my outfit it was significantly loose on me. I sort of feel like I'm melting.
Got some more good recipes today - Edamame and Roasted Corn Succotash and Lemon Pepper Kale. I'm just going to keep on trucking. One more week left!

Day 13 - Getting Antsy
I'm getting antsy. I am feeling more changes coming and I'm just not patient enough for them to get there. I know I'm being a little bit cryptic, but I just want to re-emphasize that this detox isn't just about your insides. It is about your mind too. I know some amazing things are going to keep happening in my life.
I'm changing for the better, I'm moving forward in my life. I'm moving past things that currently do not serve me and my goals. My husband and I are also collaborating more and working toward similar goals with the same mindset.
I'm still feeling cravings, and I'm wondering if it isn't more hormonal instead of the Reset not really doing its job.
These posts are getting somewhat boring because things are going so well. I hope that it just goes to show you that anyone can do this and succeed. Only 8 more days until I'm finished with the Reset. I'm on the home stretch. I'm completely vegan now and on Monday I will start cutting out grains while introducing probiotics in to my supplements.
I was challenged today at a birthday party. There was cake and ice cream and yummy snacks. I told myself just because it was there, doesn't mean I HAVE to have some. I would've loved to of course....
Today I had roasted squash that was delicious. I must have met my soul mate diet, because I love pretty much everything on the diet plan.

Day 12 - Burger and Fries
I had a very challenging day today. This looks disgusting to me right now but I really wanted it. I really had to stop myself from going and getting it. I was practically in tears. So I learned something, I want this food when I'm stressed out, when the kids are driving me insane, when there is a 'to do' list a mile long, when I just need something to make me feel good for 10 minutes. I didn't get any, but I almost did. I guess that is a win, right? I'm learning so much about myself in just 21 days.

Day 11 - I'm Getting Good At This
I'm getting good at meal prep and just regular day to day organization. If I have to work at the Y at night I make sure to have dinner made and as ready as possible before I leave.
Overall today was pretty uneventful. I'm loving all of the different recipes. I'm not enjoying going to the grocery store so frequently, but that is the price you pay for eating fresh fruit and veggies. I am beginning to really love and understand the French style of going to the shops every day. Although there was seems like so much easier than going to the big Target every day. I guess today was pretty uneventful with the Reset. I made another pretty good soup for dinner and another best part of the day was I got to eat the leftovers from last night's Quinoa Lentil Pilaf. Yum!
I did receive my Vegan Chocolate Shakeology today and did have 1/2 a packet today for my afternoon snack. I sure wish I could've had the entire pack. If you would like a sample send me a message!

Optimize - Supplement
Another supplement I take daily. This is in capsule form.
Promotes healthy metabolism and effective body functions.
Enzymes initiate millions of reactions within the body each moment. They are responsibile for nearly every bodily function, including vision, reproduction, growth, and respiration, as well as the storage and relase of energy. Without enzymes, life simply can't exist.
As we age, our enzyme levels and activity decrease. Couple this with poor diet, stress, illness, and injury, and most of us find ourselves in a state of constant enzyme deficiency, causing our normal bodily functions --including how we absorb and digest nutrients -- to start breaking down.
Optimize is a proprieteray blend of systemic enzymes that help turn back the clock and restore your body to its full function. Added camu-camu herb provides Vitamin C, flavonoids, and amino acids to help promote an optimal immune reponse, and can help manage your body's natural inflammatory response.

Day 10 - Mommy Thighs
All you Moms out there know what I'm talking about. It is why they invented Mom Jeans. Well, I'm proud to say I'm noticing a big difference in my Mommy thighs. I'm on Day 10. Pretty much half way through my Reset. It isn't like I had huge Mommy thighs or anything, but I did notice they were a problem area. I am seriously blown away at such a noticeable difference in only TEN DAYS! Do I have you on the seat of your pants yet? (hah!). I'm sure you all can't wait to see my results, I can't either.
Today I had two kiwi for breakfast, lunch was roasted red pepper bisque and a salad, dinner was quinoa lentil pilaf and steamed broccoli. The quinoa lentil pilaf was soooo delicious, it was hard to stop eating it. I quadrupled the recipe so that there was plenty for the entire family to eat. Being that we only have 2 adults and a 2 year old in our family there was plenty left over. I know I ate more than one serving, but I didn't feel that bad because it was full of veggies. It was so good, the little one reallllly liked it and even ate it. Which hardly ever happens if it isn't one of the required life staples of a child (read: grilled cheese, chicken nuggets, PBJ... etc. etc.). Another one for the recipe book!

Am I hungry or even eating anything?
The answer is yes! I haven't been taking pictures of my food because I keep forgetting or it really isn't that pleasing to the eye. More like just throwing things on a bowl or plate and then eating it. I eat three meals a day and can even have a snack if I'm feeling extra hungry. The meals I'm eating make me feel full and I can honestly say that I'm not really getting many hunger pangs. When I do I just try to drink more water.
I'm still having some cravings... for instance chocolate. I'm still anxiously awaiting my Vegan Chocolate Shakeology. Once I get that I can have some for a snack and get my chocolate fix. As I said in my vlog last night... I am getting a little tired of salad, but I need to start throwing lots of different veggies in it. If I'm running low on them I just won't have any and will have mostly lettuce and tomato.
I'm not so tired and achy any more. I can't believe I'm half-way through this! It just seems to be going by so quickly now.

Day 9 - Is This Thing Working?
I'm almost halfway through this Reset. I'm sure you all want to know... is this thing working? I'm not stepping on the scale or measuring myself until the end of the detox. I will be getting my hubby to take halfway pictures tomorrow, but you won't get to see them or hear the results until the end!
I will share with you that a few weeks prior to starting the Reset I started going to the chiropractor. For a long time I've had shoulder / upper back / neck pain. I was x-rayed and checked out by them and they found that my left shoulder was so tight that it was an inch higher than my right shoulder. I'm pretty much some sort of Quasimodo.
So, they've been working on me for a few weeks and during the first week of the Reset where did I feel the worst? My shoulders / upper back / neck, I was miserable. The first week is all about releasing the toxins out of your body. It makes sense that is where I hold my stress and I'm always asking my hubby to massage my neck and shoulder muscles. I'm picking up and putting down 35 pound kiddos all day.
It all seemed way too coincidental to not be true. I knew there was a problem in that location of my body and that there was a build up of toxins and stress. Why wouldn't that be where I'm the most sore? So it seems that the detox is actually working so far.
I haven't really felt a surge of energy yet. I haven't really noticed a major change in my weight until today I did notice some changes in my thighs and some change in my stomach. I do not know how significant it is. A woman is her own worst critic. However, my hubby and close friends have noticed a difference in only the 9 days I've been doing this.
I am succeeding in not drinking soda or needing caffeine. I've been soda free for 9 days now! I'm incorporating a lot more healthier foods in to my family and I's diet. I'm succeeding in learning lots of healthy recipes and learning how to cook even healthier. I'm succeeding in learning how to plan out meals and trips to the grocery store.
Overall, things are going very well. :)

Why am I an Emo kid?
I'm 30 years old for God's sake, why am I feeling like an Emo teen? Did you ever think you would be emotional while doing a detox? - Which is about your internal body and food.... not feelings.... RIGHT???
Wrong!
Why do we eat? - To fuel and run our bodies.
Why do we eat in the 21st century industrialized and internetized society? - Because we're bored, stressed out, tired, anxious, scared, lonely, nervous, happy, with friends and family, excited, angry.....
That is why I'm an Emo kid. I've been given a structured, set meal plan and meal schedule. I'm committed to sticking with it. Since I won't eat when I'm - bored, stressed out, tired, anxious, scared, lonely, nervous, happy, with friends and family, excited or angry - I actually have to FEEL these feelings. I have to acknowledge them, work through them and honor them.
Another reason I believe I've been feeling a little off kilter is that I haven't been working out as much as I was. I'm missing all those good feeling endorphins, as well as the camaraderie of my friends at the Y, time away from the kids and just my self-identified ME time.
So, if you're interested in doing a detox I want you to know that it is more than just about losing a few pounds and getting clean. It is about changing your life. You will have so many other things going on besides just losing a few pounds. It is seriously a bootcamp for your life and body.
I also recommend doing the Ultimate Reset with a group of people. You can talk about your feelings with them and they will know exactly what you're going through. If you're interested please message me or email me at angela_marie19@yahoo.com - I'm going to be starting a group of people doing the Reset together on September 5th, 2012 (for all of you Plymouth people, that will be AFTER the Blueberry Festival of course) and plan on running them throughout the years to come.

Day 8 - The Cheesecake Factory
That's right, I said Cheesecake Factory.... Mom's Night Out tonight with my girlfriends at the Cheesecake Factory. The ultimate test of will power and strength of a chocolate lover. The Cheesecake Factory is one of my favorite places to eat. I almost cancelled on going out today, but I wanted to see my friends, so I sucked it up.
It was a good test. I passed. I didn't eat what was on the official meal plan tonight and I don't really care. I was good and I had fun. I took a look at what I was supposed to eat tonight for dinner and tried to get something that resembled that. I was supposed to have Pinto Beans and Rice, steamed zucchini and string beans with lemon. What I ended up having was a small plate of hummus and pita (I ate maybe 1/4 of it and brought the rest home for hubby) and a mixed greens salad with asparagus (no cheese and a little balsamic vinegar dressing).
I don't think I have ever in my entire life gone to the Cheesecake Factory and did not get cheesecake. I think that is against the law or something. Well, I didn't tonight. I didn't even steal a bite from my friends' plates. Although, I thought about it. I didn't have a soda or wine or a mixed drink.... I'm awfully proud of myself. I was even ok not having those things. It didn't mean I didn't WANT those things, but I'm looking towards the end goal. One step at a time. I'm not saying I'll never have those things again, but I'm learning about food and my body. I'm taking control of my life like I've never taken control before. It is awfully empowering and it really feels amazing. All in all, I was rewarded for having a good, healthy meal with great friends and this amazing sunset. A great way to end the day!

No Workout?... for THREE weeks!
Are you kidding me? I can't workout for 3 weeks!?? That is one of the hardest things going in to the Reset. I love my workouts, it is my me time. Good, quality sweat equity time. I thought for sure I'd cheat. How could I not workout for 21 days?
I'm on Day 8 and there is no way I would've worked out any of these 8 days. It is hard just to get walking or yoga in each day. The reason why is that I'm exhausted, completely physically drained. The whole point of this is to release the toxins that are currently in your body. Yeah, you might lose weight but that is just a happy side effect. I have seriously felt like I've been hit by a truck. Sore muscles are one of the worst side effects I've had, which I'll talk more about in another post.
Why shouldn't you work out on the Reset? Well, I've realized why not, but before starting the Reset I didn't know that. On a cellular level, the detox is getting your cells to clean themselves of toxins. When you work out you are tearing down your muscle and then rebuilding it. So, if you were working out and detoxing your body is not only cleaning the toxins out but also tearing down AND rebuilding AND doing it's other natural job duties. Just too much going on. I want my cells working on detox right now and boy they seem to be doing their job.

Mineralize - Supplement
I take this supplement with 12 oz water three times a day. It is actually just Himalayan Salt.... but WHY Himalayan Salt specifically?
Minerals, including slat, are essential to life. We can't live without them. Sadly, today's common table salt (sodium chloride), found in most homes and restaurants and in all processed foods, contains none of the trace minerals that make salt good for us.
Mineralize contains pure crystal salt, minimally processed and containing up to 84 natural minerals and elements. These are elements needed by the human body to promote stable pH, aid with the absoprtion of food particles through the digestive tract, regulate water content through the body, prevent muscle cramps, and help support cellular funciton.
If you want your body to function properly, you need REAL salt from the earth, complete with all its natural elements. The salt in Mineralize is even purer than sea salt (which has become increasingly tainted by pollutants).

Day 7 - Week One Complete
I can't believe it, but I just finished Day 7, the days are starting to get easier and are seemingly going faster. I'm kind of getting the hang of prepping and planning and cutting and chopping and cleaning and I could go on and on. It is still taking awhile but I've got some really good recipes up my sleeve and many of them can be made quickly with a little prep.
I've heard that the meal prep gets easier as the days go on as far as the recipes go, so there is something to look forward to. Tomorrow I start the "detox" supplement three times a day. I've also heard this tastes worst than the alkalinize supplement! I've really gotten used to the alkalinize so it isn't so bad any more.
Another late night tonight, so this will be short and sweet, but I have some more blogs to finish up and post for tomorrow.

Another late night tonight, so this will be short and sweet, but I have some more blogs to finish up and post for tomorrow.
Video for Day 7
Day 6 - The Day I Cheated
I cheated on Day 6 (which is now yesterday as I write this). I had 3
dark chocolate chips. Ok, it isn't the end of the world but I finally
had to give in to my chocolate craving. I also had a cheating incident
at Whole Foods yesterday morning. See video for that one. My chocolate
Vegan Shakeology should get here this week and that will completely cure
the issue. So, it won't be happening again! I also forgot to cook the
toasted millet for dinner last night. Oops. The rest of the dinner was
delicious though. It was Zucchini Cashew soup and it was surprisingly
really delicious and a Roasted Root Medley (beets, yams, onions and
carrots)... also good!
For breakfast it was farina, Grade B maple syrup, berries. Lunch was mixed green salad and lentil lime salad. Afternoon Snack was tropical strawberry Shakeology. I took a walk with Xavier and the dog around the block which was nice. It was right before the rain and there was a nice breeze.
Still feeling a little bit tired and run down. Only one more day of the first phase and it is on to the next. I'm excited. :)

Day 5 - Hardest Day Yet
Friday - the night we try to do things as a family. My hubby works a lot, I work a lot and we were able to spend some time as a family together tonight. Normally Fridays we eat pizza and when we spend time together we may have a treat like ice cream or popcorn. Tonight of course I couldn't eat those things. No pizza, no ice cream, no popcorn.
I went to the grocery store today and saw aisles and aisles of "bad food" - it was frustrating. The fact that our society and the food corporations know these foods are bad for you but don't really care. What has become of us? Trans fats, white flour, white sugar, preservatives, words you can't pronounce - all in our food.
So, I thought that Day 3 would be the hardest, but it turns out it is Day 5. I feel like I have a hang of taking the supplements, eating at the right times of day, planning and prepping. Maybe I'm just stressed out and need to take a few minutes to regroup. One of the things they want you to do during the Reset is eat slowly, chew your food 30 times before swallowing, take deep breaths, be more intentional in your life. I feel like I haven't been able to really put a good effort in to those things. With 2 toddlers during the day, 1 toddler at night, a busy hubby, dog and cat, a house... etc. etc... it can be hard to live with intention. Again, this is good to work on these things. They will always be weaknesses unless I work to improve them.
I'm pushing forward and I didn't fall off the wagon at all, just trudging through these emotions, tiredness and soreness. According to the program this is all normal, to not only feel run down as the toxins are being released from your body but go through many different emotions.
Today I ate for breakfast hot rice cereal sweetened with grade B maple syrup. Lunch was a large veggie plate (huge really) and quinoa salad. Afternoon snack - Tropical Strawberry Vegan Shakeology. Dinner - stir fry veggies and brown rice.
Here's my video for this evening. With a couple photos thrown in. I'm gonna be a pro at this video thing by the end of the 21 days.

Day Four
I didn't take any pictures of my food today to make you jealous, what's up with that?
Today I ate: Breakfast - yogurt, fruit and a slice of toast, Lunch - lentil lime salad and a leftover black beans and rice taco from the other night, Afternoon Snack - Tropical Strawberry Vegan Shakeology, Dinner - Stir-Fried Veggies, Whole Grain Quinoa and Cucumber and Tomato Salad. Didn't really do any walking or stretching. I worked at the Y today and stayed busy with meal prep most of the day.
Dinner was particularly delicious. That will become a family staple as both the hubby and the son loved the stir-fried veggies.
I've decided not to weigh myself or measure myself until the end of the Reset. I may not be feeling amazing yet, but I know after the 21 days, I will be different in many ways. I can't wait to see the changes, I'm anxious, which is making the Reset go very slow. It feels like the last four days has been two weeks.
Here's my vlog for today. I hate how they make stills of your face and it is all contorted. I look weird.

I'm Normal Honey!
Alright, it took me only four days but I'm going to have to talk about my "digestive" system. Fear not, I will be as tactful as I can. Starting this program I figured I'd be soooo regular and it'll just keep me clean because that is what eating clean does right? Wrong (so far anyway).
So I open my email account this morning and I get the daily email from Beachbody about what I'm going to eat today and some reminders, etc. They do send you a book but the emails are just there to keep you on track and help you. Anyway, the first thing it says is: "Are you noticing changes in your digestion, energy levels, or your ability to focus? If today feels difficult, remember that any discomfort is probably a result of releasing accumulated wastes from your system—which will soon lead to better digestion and elimination. Stay committed, avoid non-Reset foods, and try to talk or spend time with people who share your healthy goals."
So, there is my answer. I pretty much laughed out loud when I read it and made my hubby read it. "See! It's normal... I'm normal!" In week two I introduce the "detox" supplement, which is also known as the colon cleanse. I doubt I'll have any problems then!

Oxygenize Supplement
I'm taking Oxygenize three times a day. It is a liquid and I just take 10-12 drops at a time. You can mix it with distilled water. It does have a different taste but I don't think that it's bad. So... what's in it? Ingredients are: Distilled water, Stabilized Oxygen, Sodium Chloride and Trace Minerals.
Oxygen plays a vital role in the body, helping with energy production, the transport of nutrients into cells, and the elimination of waste from the tisues. Scientific research has even proven that no disease, bacteria or virus can survive in an oxygen-rich environment.
Unfortunately, the percentage of oxygen atoms in the air has been dramatically reduced during recent decades, possibly due to airborne pollution. Yet the amount of oxygen you need has not diminished.
Oxygenize is an excellent source of supplemental oxygen, and is pH-balanced to be optimally available to your system, helping your body detoxify and develop a strong immune system. How exciting is that? It's worth emphasizing, because it's a big part of what sets the Beachbody Ultimate Reset apart from other programs.

Day THREE
Good evening! Feeling pretty good tonight. I've made a video and was going to put it in imovie and make it really cool! But... I can't seem to figure it out unless I take the video with imovie, it won't let me load the movie I made. Anyway, you live and learn. I'll work on it tomorrow.
Today I ate:
Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs, 2 pieces of toast, leftover steamed asparagus
L: Lentil lime salad (soooo good, really, really yummy - pic below) and a microgreen salad
S: Vegan Tropical Strawberry Shakeology (is my Chocolate vegan here yet? no....? darn!)
D: Tempeh and Veggie Nori (otherwise known as a burrito), Cucumber salad, miso soup
I'm not bowled over by the cucumber salad and miso soup, but I'm up for trying anything once. Hubby has never been a fan of miso soup or soup in general so he didn't really enjoy it. We both really liked the Lentil Lime salad. I will definitely be making that one again.
As far as physical activity today. I got on the mic at the Y to practice my Turbo Kick instructing with the lovely Jolene. I worked on cueing the warm-up and just getting comfortable with the mic. Then I took Xavier for a walk down the block and back. Still feeling really tired, but no headaches which means I'm drinking enough water (I hope)!
I also can't wait to get my Chocolate Vegan Shakeology. I'm hoping that will cure my chocolate fix.
Here is my video for today.

Alkalinize - Supplement
For maximum health, our blood should be slightly
alkaline. Normal pH—level of acidity—levels fall
between 7.35 and 7.45. Neutral pH is 7.0. Anything
below 7.0 is considered acidic, and may
lead to adverse reactions and a
compromised immune and digestive system,
making your body more vulnerable to viruses,
bacteria, congestion, inflammation, and disease.
Alkalinize helps bring your body back to a healthy pH balance. It helps neutralize excess acid, improving alkalinity and supporting your immune system.*
Each daily dose of Alkalinize comes in a convenient daily single-serving packet that should each be mixed with 3 to 6 ounces of water.
So, what is in this stuff? Alfalfa Grass, Organic Kamut Grass, Organic Barley Grass, Wheat Grass, Himalayan Crystal Salt, Apple Cider Vinegar, Fulvic Acid Powder. If you've not had a wheat grass shot before you might really dislike this supplement. Obviously because of the ingredients it is very "grassy" and has a very earthy taste. This is best made in a shaker cup and you can even take the bitter taste off by sucking on a lemon after it. Just like a REAL shot! :) You could pretend, ya know!

End of Day Two
I've made my first video! It isn't great and I didn't edit anything... I just threw it out there. I'll get better I promise. :)

Today was great. For breakfast I had oatmeal, plain yogurt, blueberries. Lunch was a big salad with grilled chicken. Snack was Tropical Strawberry VEGAN Shakeology. Dinner was black bean, corn and brown rice taco (corn tortilla), guacamole, salsa. With a side of kale. It was reallly good. The best part of this is that I'm learning lots of healthy recipes and ways to cook. I'm buying produce for 2-3 days at a time instead of for the whole week. I won't lie, it is a lot of food prep that I'm not used to. I know this is a weakness of mine and it needs to improve. Another great reason to do this, right?!
The supplements are pretty easy to take. The Mineralize in distilled water really doesn't taste much different to me. It tastes pretty good. The Alkalinize which I'm taking every afternoon is a little hard to stomach. It is pretty much a wheat grass shot. I'm going to make my next post about what is in it and what it does for you.

Why Reset?
I've taken this from the Ultimate Reset website. They say it so much better than I do -
When you think about it, it's amazing just to be alive. Living in this modern world, where new technologies and industrial advances arrive on a near-daily basis, can sometimes seem absolutely miraculous. But all these modern conveniences have come with a price.
We're breathing air that's far from pristine, drinking water that's not even close to being pure, eating foods laced with things we can't even pronounce—chemical additives, preservatives, and pesticides—and absorbing toxins contained in everything from our children's toys to the pillows where we lay our heads.
Here's the good news: Your body is a very resilient, very efficient machine, able to neutralize or eliminate most of this chemical onslaught on a daily basis. The bad news is that this incredible machine is being pushed to its limits—and you can probably feel the results in the form of lower energy, weight gain, and a weakened immune system. To put it simply, our bodies—our own personal survival machines—are now struggling to do what they used to do much more easily.
You might not be able to change the environment (although hopefully, we'll all try a little harder!), but you can change yourself. With a little assistance, you can help your body do again what it once did naturally—absorbing more of the things that are good for you and getting rid of the things that are bad.
That's what the Beachbody Ultimate Reset™ is all about. In just three weeks, you'll steer your body from mere survival back to a state of "thrival."
In just 21 days, you'll take back your power. Bolster your health. Release what no longer serves you—and never did. Learn. Cleanse. And if you're not already, you'll become 100 percent in awe of the remarkable creation that you are.*
Consult a healthcare professional before using this or any supplement or meal replacement program, especially if pregnant, breast feeding, or if you have any other special needs.

Soda is BAD, very, very BAD
I'm feeling much better this morning and I plan on feeling good the rest of the day. Tonight I have a shift to work at the Y so it will be a lesson in planning ahead and bringing my dinner, which I'm not used to doing. I usually have my husband bring it, have a Shakeology, grab Subway, or just eat when I get home at 8.30 or 9 pm.
After last nights detox I wanted to share about BAD soda... even DIET soda is BAD! This is coming from someone that doesn't drink coffee or tea and primarily drinks diet soda (ME!). Here is a video on the evils of soda.

Holy Caffeine Withdrawal Batman
Anything that gives you this bad of withdrawal symptoms has to be bad. I had a great day until about 7 pm, then I got the full blown headache, nausea, chills, everything. I feel like a cocaine addict or alcoholic trying to "get clean." I'm hoping I only have about one more day of the withdrawal but one tip I have is to really taper off the caffeine. I did taper a little but not enough.
I started my morning off with the supplements below which I ended up taking three times today right before my meals. For breakfast I had 2 slices of toast, 2 scrambled eggs, steamed spinach. Lunch, I had a great big salad, I could've had a snack but didn't today, then I was too sick to eat my dinner but it was salmon, baby potatoes and asparagus. I also drank over a gallon of distilled water today.
This post is going to be short and sweet so I can go back to closing my eyes! I also wanted to say that my husband has been so supportive and such a big help. Could a girl ask for a better guy? I've received some really sweet messages from friends too! It really makes me feel confident in myself and know that I can do this.
Here are my supplements I took today, I'll talk more about them later. Tomorrow I will be in better spirits!

Ultimate Reset on Monday!
I'm going to blog my way through the three weeks of the Ultimate Reset which I'm going to start on July 9th, 2012. My goal is to vlog and blog each day of the Reset. I want to share the good and the bad, the awesome and ugly. I'm very excited to start and kind of nervous as well. To find out more info on the Ultimate Reset and what it actually does at www.myultimatereset.com/modernsupermom
